Unfortunately I had the flu all week and just couldnt go along as a non hunting guest. My friend, his son and my son went and missed one hog the first day. The second day they went in at noon and stayed til 6. they didnt hunt as hard ( it was raining hard) but saw one group and couldnt get close enough. The other hunter got 1 small 45# pig the first day and didnt show up for the 2nd. The F&G officer told them that no junior hunters got pigs the first weekend. My friends saw their pigs mostly behind pond 1.

Well, my Joice Island hunt was a big FLOP! I hunted nearly every inch of that place on Saturday and didn't see a single pig. I saw very very little sign other than in a small area in Pond B. The pigs have left the island due to the pressure. I guess next year I'll be sure to apply for the earlier hunts.
