That would be too close to 3 grown cats for my liking. Doesn't even sound like they were that scared of you, I think that is what would make me the most nervous.

Well this was my first Tejon Pig-o-Rama, and I was on the NorthSide. It was a great hunt and definitely a learning experience. There were some beautiful hogs brought in, unfortunately non of them were mine.

I saw Elk in good numbers (2 Bulls and many Cows), Mulies (2 Bucks, several doe), and 8 to 10 pigs.
I never had a great shot under 400 yards unless I wanted to carry the pig out of a canyon bottom with out the aid of enough rope (lesson 1, bring lots of rope), and a winch would be handy as well. Particularly if you are hunting alone.

Several parties scored early, they seemed to be veterans of the Northside. All in all a great time, sure wish I knew then what I know now. Would probably have some fresh pork at the locker.

yep .......

Tejon is a great hunt. Even if you don't connect on a Hog. We did bump into a few hunters while in the field but everyone spreads out pretty quickly, in the morning.

My 'in your face' Mountain Lion experience was a good one. I'll remember that one. I.m sure the story will be repeated several times this fall around hunting camp.

I would have liked to hike a little more but the heat was just getting to me.

Great hunt and time with my Son and his family is always a plus

Just wish you could hunt a little longer. It goes by way to quick.

Maybe an Upland or Explorer package is worth looking at.

Hey Muskeg:

I just spoke with my two buddies that were hunting the north. They each got a pig. They said that they ran into a guy Friday night that had just seen a lion. I said, I think I know who that is. Good 'ole Muskeg. That must have been you!

Three cats! Even with a gun, you wouldn't stand a chance if they were hungry.

Congratualtions and good job to your buddies. A few Hogs were taken. Like I was saying I wanted to hike around some more but hot dry air was being heavy handed on me.

The places we set up to take stands for the last 2 hours of light just didn't show any hogs. We didn't hunt Sunday evening though.

I just got the new pricelist from Tejon and i don't see any June POR scheduled. Maybe a conflict or the bad success rates of the June hunt, I would guess.

If I don't draw Arizona Elk or Whitetail I'll probably get in on the Dec POR.

I have pictured that Mt Lion scene many times in my head.

I wondered if they (lions) would attack in groups like Wolf. Most Bear attacks are from a single animal. Sometimes big siblings will get involved if there mother is attacking or hurt. Wolf usually pair or multiple up for the kill but sometimes do it alone.

I would not want to find out

Muskeg:

My buddies said that it was pretty brutal. The only time that they saw hogs was before the sun was all the way up. Both of their pigs were small.

I think a mother lion might be accompanied by juvenil lions on a hunt. I can't imagine more than one adult lion hunting together. I don't know. JJ Hack would know.

Great memory for you though. I always see lion tracks where I bow hunt. I have yet to see a lion in the flesh. I would welcome a sighting.
