Junior Elk tag in NE California

I just heard today that one of my students, a girl, drew the NE California junior elk tag!!!! How cool is that! Not only is she one of my students, but a girl drew the tag!!!!! I'll keep you all posted if she gets anything! I'm so happy for her!!!

Hopefully she'll get one and I can get a picture of her and her elk to add to my student hunter collection!! YEAH!!

Thats great. What is even better is that you keep pics of kids in your class that hunt. I love to hear that!!


Here in NM the principal of the school has a wall of his office with the kids of the school showing off what they have bagged.

There are several pics on the wall of my kids with their game. Kinda cool that kids talk hunting at school.

I have a picture wall also. Some of my kids killed huge bucks, and elk, last year - to the point that any other bucks they kill will be a size disappointment. But good for them!!

I remember a few years back that there was a 12 year old girl on the cover of the Hunting Regs with her Grizzly Island Bull Tule Elk. How lucky is that ! to draw on the first year to apply.

It's great to see juniors (and girls too no less) draw great tags.

I sure hope my daughter draws some good ones starting in 3-4 years from now. I hope to get a couple of juniors (my nephews) out next year for deer--one of 'em has the bug real bad...lol.

I think that it is great that the DFG is wakeing up and realizing that we need to have some junior hunts.
