I bought two chances at the hat raffle at Saturday's MDF dinner. Hat #2 was the winner. Not too bad for $40.

Any advice? Which guides are better or need to be avoided? Should I try to do before June? What would a normal tip amount be?
Thanks

Congrats!

I hear the bugs can be pretty tough in June. Hope you have a 4x4.

Well if you won a guided hunt you'll be sleeping in the lodge, eating their food, and letting them drive you around. Can't get any better than that.
I've heard most of the guides are good people. The only one we had any contact with at last years JHP hunt was "Cody". He really busted his butt helping the Rifenbarks get their pig out of a real hellhole.

Congrats. I have never been on a guided hunt at Tejon. However, people speak very highly of Cody. Don't know if Ron Gayer would be on the ticket, but if I had a choice, he would be my first pick.

No complaints with Larry Johnson.

Be prepared for a great time. Good food, nice lodge, too many pigs to choose from.

It will be over be you know it...
