What would be the best time to start looking for sheds in my area? Seems like I always start too early and I end up jumping bucks with racks on. Does good diet have an effect on shed times or is it strictly testosterone drop that dictates the shed window?

I'd say that for your area get out now. If you are worried about jumping antlered ones stay out of the bedding areas until the end of month. But if you have others shed hunting the same spots you'd better get after them hard! Good luck

I'm just across the state line and haven't found any yet, but only been out once so far. Folks are still seein' alot of antlered bucks , so I'll probably give it a couple more weeks.

I got a picture of a buck on the 5th after the Ice storm that went through NE Kansas. He still had his rack.
