I'm a bit late posting here but here goes. A few weeks ago I headed to one of my public land spots. After a late start, I spotted this guy out feeding in a meadow. My original spot was at about 1/2 a mile, so I had to put on a pretty long stalk.

Once I got to ~100 yards, I put one through both shoulders. The boar ran off, though I could tell he was slower than he should be. I fired a few more shots until he crashed to a halt just out of sight in a brush tunnel. A close range headshot sealed the deal about 25 yards from the original shot.

I would guess he was 150 lbs though I don't know for sure as I had to carry him out in pieces.

And remember, don't bother with public land because there are no pigs on Public Land ;)

Nice so um where is this land

Not saying. Anyone who hunts public land will understand. I just put in too much work for this pig to even give any clues at all. I'm talking 15+ days this year iirc.

Nice hog. Is't fun, all the works starts after the hog is down. They are one tough critter. My buddy shot one last week on his property at 75 yards through both shoulders and still went 80 yards before it died. He informed me, he it a major artery in the heart. Hogs are tough. Glad to see you were successful. I love the stock of the hunt.

How many total shots did you have to put in that bad boy? What kind of rifle and rounds do you use?

Congrats on the hog. BBQ time for sure.
