Anybody else put in for this? I throw them $20/year for a chance, would be a lot closer for me than a Western State hunt.

The Elk Hunt Lottery Lookup is offline. It will be back online by the end of the day on May 10th for the 2013 drawing results.

I'm in for the drawing. I know the odds are against me, but at least I have odds. I already have private land located in a premier area and the landowner has a deal with the Outfitter to take anyone he designates. AllI need is for lightning to strike and draw the tag.

I scored a Cow Archery tag, may be looking for Outfitter/Landowner references.

Did you check your luck yet?

My family and I struck out.

Awesome for you Inchr48. If you need any help, let me know. I've got family down that way and my cousin drew that tag a couple of years ago.

A Kentucky cow elk--pretty cool. inchr48, we expect a nice thread with pictures upon your successful return. Not that I'm putting pressure on you or anything... Good luck!

I'm getting nervous already. My legs are shaking like a coon dog passing a peach pit.

Now I'm glad I bought that new bow in February. Of course I would have liked a reason to buy a new rifle .......

Awesome news Inchr, you're going to love this hunt I bet. I wish I could help out with info but I have no intel on that at all or contacts. When is the hunt?

Won't be long till MO has their first elk hunt in the Ozark Mtns.

Cow Archery starts mid-Oct. and runs through to around the 20th of January. Weeks that have open firearms seasons in that period are closed to archery and cross-bow hunting. This tag is the hardest to fill, since the cows get stirred up by the bull hunters, and scouting doesn't do much good as their patterns change. I've started to get input from some outfitters as to which hunt area (LEA) to apply for. That drawing is in July. Then it will be a matter of saving my egg money to afford the guide fee, and getting very confident with my bow out to 60 yards. I feel very lucky. Non-residents only are allowed 10% of the tags. Over 61,000 entries were taken this year for 1,010 tags issued.

Sh*t, that's more tags than California--and we have had elk forever! Sound like it's gonna be a fun one.

Inch48,like I told you in our emails, anything I can do to help you or anyone else just let me know. Living on the edge of the restoration zone and working with lots of people in the area has its advantages. And Kentuck, it's only 42yrds from porch to feeder!

You sound like my cousin. About the same at his house. My family is in London.

Appreciate all you guys helping me get hooked up. All the leads sound promising. I will hire an outfitter/guide instead of a DIY. Sounds like prescouting the cows rarely pays off, since they will be elsewhere come season opener due to being pushed around by the initial Bull season. Help getting the cow out of the field is worth something too (since I don't have anyone to go with me to help.) I'll PM those of you I've been in contact with once I know which outfit I hook up with. Scfd1421, If I score, maybe we can hook up before I head home. I'll share a couple steaks for your help.
