Yeah, what superduty says.
There's one for just about every area.
Just make sure you call them before hand to verify hours and thier rules for game meat.

Not sure where you are going in central cali but.....

Freedom Meat Lockers
Address: 160 Hi Grade Ln, Freedom, CA 95019
Phone: (831) 724-4355

They have a 24 hour line (at least they used to) for game meat. They'll meet you anytime and put the piggie in the cold box for you. I would call them first though (and get a cajun sando if you drop off your pig!)

Los gatos creek/coalinga road is not in Los Gatos.... It is about a 2 1/2 hour drive from the mentioned butcher who is in the city of Los Gatos. I do hear good things about that butcher though, although a little pricey.

Anybody here tried "Kinders Custom Meats" in Concord? I just had a recommendation for them.

I want a butcher to make bacon and hams. I was told that Kinders sends out meats for curing and then slices and dices once they get back.

Corralitos Market near Watsonville/Santa Cruz is another good one. They cure and smoke the hams in their own smokehouse over apple wood, and they taste like a REAL ham should.. Tons of different sausage choices too.

mccormac98,

I grew up in Lafayette.

Anyway, I don't think the butcher will make bacon from a wild pig...I've asked.

Bobby Lee's in Hayward does a good job, not too far from Ltown. I just got 40lbs of linguisa from a pig hunt 3 weeks ago. Good stuff. He smokes and cures everything on his property.

I haven't called Kinders to see if they do wild game. PS, there is a kinders just over Taylor Blvd, in Pleasant Hill which is closer to you.

Good luck

Manfreddy,

Where in Lafayette did you grow up? I grew up there too.

I am disappointed to hear that no one will make me bacon. Why won't they? Do I have to learn how to do it myself?

I was wondering about Bobby Lee's - it looked promising. Thanks for the tip.
