Hey everyone, my dad and I both drew for the special deer hunt at Knoxville Wildlife Area. It is August 13th to 19th. I just found out and started doing searching. A lot of it seems pretty bad and that the area is hot and not a lot of deer. Anyone draw this before or hunt the area before and could provide some solid advice. Thanks!

Knoxville is hot and dry. Poison oak and rattlesnakes for sure. There’s deer in there for sure

Yes, they draw 120 hunters for the 1st week of rifle. Only the 120 hunters can hunt this area during that week. I put in and got drawn. Doesn't use any preference points, however, everything I have searched so far does not look promising.

A bit of a twist on this thread, but, does this area hold any pigs? I am going to be in the Napa area for the month of January and tring to find a place to hunt.

Well good luck, let me know how it goes. We did not go last year. It was 115 the week we were suppose to go and we didn’t want to deal with that. I also heard the success rate was really low.
