The wet weather has the pigs back on my place in Lake County. Got up around noon today and headed up the ridge on my quad. Five minutes in as I pass a hillside of solid oaks I see a pig rooting around no more than 25 yards away, totally oblivious to my arrival. I shut off the quad and grabbed my rifle as he started to move, got off and waited for him to turn broadside before shooting. Hit him in the heart but he still ran 50 yards or so downhill before dropping. 145 lbs. Almost got a second one at dusk but he busted me as I got near. Gonna be a good winter!
