April 15, 2004
The USCATS Pro Trail tournament, to be fished May 22 out of Lake Erie Metropark, is for single anglers and two-person teams. The event offers $44,000 in cash and prizes, and that will be augmented by the return of 80 percent of the entry fees.
First place is worth $9,600. There also will be a $1,500 prize for the largest catfish.
The entry fee is $200 per team, with a $25 late fee for each entry received after May 12. Competitors must be members of the U.S. Catfish Anglers Tournament Series, which costs $25 a year, and agree to a polygraph test if requested.
