we went out on sunday got into a huge covey of about 50 got about 4 they scattered real good and got in the hills also got 2 cottontails
Did you also just park your vehicle at the hunter's lodge and hiked the rest of the way by foot? Or is there a different entrance you can take to access hunting grounds? Any information would be appreciated. Went back several times and did not see anyone or any vehicles in the hunting area. Place seemed pretty deserted but I don't know why I keep going back hoping to get luck!
You can, off of Davis rd from Ramona express . All the way before the yellow gate park in the left. Take the trail west
im going to try my luck there tomorrow
we got into a covey of about 12 quail in the hills and saw one cottontail. I shot 3 times and bagged one bird. pretty good day though, just bad shooting from the boys and I.

that's not bad at all, many times I don't even see a thing there. Were you guys there in the morning or afternoon??
They were dead silent when I went by. I knew I should have gripped the hillside a bit more. Did you guys go back to the back and have a look at all the Chukar on that hillside? It was the most Chukar I have seen in years. In the morning. As soon as we got there we heard the quail calling in the hills. So we started to hunt in there direction.
