Who's planning on showing up opening week at Sonoma? From the sounds of things, the pig sightings have been spotty thus far.

I am hoping I can get the time off

Yes, it looks like it is pretty much going to be a boat-in hunt. However, one could walk in to a few areas at the Yorty Creek launch--there is some good country over there. I have had good hunts just South of the Launch.

From what I'm hearing you might have to bring your own rock to sit on there on opener. If I weren't going to be in Idaho then I would be there though!

I'll be out there pretty regularly once things open up. I have a 22' bayrunner as well along with a 12' valco thatll fit in the back of the truck and launch at Yorty. Probably not gonna make the opener, but soon after I will be there. Last year was it was pretty good opening week. Could have killed one with a brick out there then... Hopefully this year will be as good, but Im hearing of a lot fewer sightings. Really lookin forward to getting out there and shootin another pig.

I won't make it on the opener this year. My wife and I will just getting back from SE montana deer hunt w/ 2 buck tags & 2 doe tags on 2nd nov 06. Then suppose to pack up again for a bear hunt in Trinity area. maybe after will try and make it before Thanksgiving. Just dont know if I'll be needing all that hog/pork meat after getting back from montana then a bear hunt. My Buddy Doug will be out there on the opener. I'll most likely make during the week when there is no body there. Good luck all

Hey, when you are up there, look for the hoofs from AS's buck...wait that's right, he packed the lower legs out with him, after he quartered his buck?

that's gotta be SacFire typing......even ol' LD knows that I kept the legs on to keep dirt off the meat while handling.

I guess that is the way they do it down south...

Don't those hoofs touch dirt too?

I am looking forward to finally getting back up to that place for another "season." Beautiful country! I just hope I can actually harvest a pig up there this year. Perhaps, I will see the sun while I am on the lake too!
