Just wondering if any of you guys were seeing any activity around the lake? Got a couple weeks off between changing jobs so I figured I'd try my hand at some hog hunting. Will be driving over from Az to hunt 3/21-3/23. Thanks for any info.

Brandon, do you mind giving me the contact info to the private landowner whom you have contact to?

Thanks

I would if I had it, I just went up there with a friend who knows the guy... I guess his lease for the property is going up at the end of the month so that sucks it's a nice area for pigs

Yeah too bad..its a wonderful place for hunting pigs as well as other game animals, especially those Grey tree squirrels. If you or your friend should have any info, please let me know.

thanks again

I was at sonoma yesterday for a morning hunt and saw only deer and heard some turkeys. I didn't see much fresh pig sign. I found 2 spots that I felt the sign was less than 24 hours old. I would think that since the shotgun hunters were all over that place for the month of February the piggies are pretty nocturnal right now. Can't shoot 'em from the couch but I also wouldn't think success rates for March will be very good.

Seems like whenever I plan a hunt, fate has other ideas for how I should be spending my time.

I was supposed to leave for Ca. on Thurs. so I could hunt around the lake on Fri, Sat & Sun, but ended up getting a call that my Granny passed away on the Monday prior to my leaving. Instead of hunting, I went to San Diego for the funeral.

I reserved a spot w/ chopper for the gf & me in May. Might try to hit Sonoma next spring, because I won't have time this fall. I really appreciate all the advice, Kirk. Sorry I didn't get to use it.
