Has anyone had any success??

I am going on Jan 8th. I haven't read much about the hunting on this forum. I believe one guy posted and he wasn't successful.

Has anyone else been there yet?

Soccer Dad,
3 of my friends and I went on the last hunt in Oct. We went and scouted the day before and I believe we glassed 2 different areas each holding about 14 pigs (50/50 adults/piglets) each. We chose to hunt the area closest to our campsite the day of the hunt as we saw the same pigs rooting that area from our campsite the evening before the hunt.

Well, we sat on that spot until about 1300 and had to leave due to the long drive home (Knowing the hogs would be crossing the fence soon). While loading up the boat at the camp we heard 2 shots approximately 1 hour after we left from the same spot. A fellow JHP'r that we met up there scored in the other area that we scouted and decided not to hunt. Lots of hogs and lots of beautiful scenery up there. Of course a boat is a must if you want to be successful. We are going back up in March. Good luck.

Bill, thanks. That was great reading. It doesn't sound like the bowhunters have had much luck.

Suzmar, sorry about the bad luck. Maybe in March.
What date do you have in March?

I'll be heading out tomorrow night. Unfortunately no time to scout. However, we found pigs last year, we'll just start there again in the morning.
