Got a little sow this morning. The hit didn't look great at 40 yds, but it's squeal and broken arrow looked promising.
We later find her barely standing, after 2 hours of brush-busting. The arrow went in the front, chopping up the lungs, and came out with guts on it. There wasn't lots of blood, most of it was internal, but there was enough to keep us on her. The fletch half of the arrow was completely inside her the whole time, and yet she might have gotten away. Her front leg was messed up too. I think it fortunate that this was in the morning, the rain hadn't started yet, and we were good trackers. Tough little pig! It would have been easy for us to give up.
This is exactly the pig I wanted today.
