first off sorry blaknight i got sent up to oraville on manday and had to stay all week didnt get off untill 7pm friday myself and a guy from work left oraville and head over we got there and checked in we took a look at the map whitch is not very good and decided to take a drive up rockpile rd by this time it was about 2am we dorove up and as we made a turn 4 pigs ran accross in fornt of us so we pulled into a parking area that was on the left side and the way the pigs where going so we waited untill sunrise and started the walk we went down a path and cut back towards where we had seen the pigs and found fresh rooting so we followed it down the hill and up into some brush and then all of the sudden the pig are right in front of us we get ready for a stalk and start closing the distance and get about 30 yds and i guess they sented us and they took off we tracked them for a while but couldnt relocate them so we decideed to try a differant spot we hunted all day but didnt see anything elseso about 4pm we desided to go back where we were and we took a diiferant trail went to the top of a ridge and walked the ridge it started snowing on us so we decided to call it a day and started back towards the truck as we turned a corner somthing caught my eye it was 8 pigs down by the creek playing in the snow so the stalk was on we made our way to the creek and i took one side my partner took the other we hurred to get in front of them and set up for a shot we each had about a 10 foot opening for a shot the first pig to show was a big black and white one i didnt have a good shot so my partner thought he did and took the shot his arrow hit a branch and deflected hitting the pig in the top of his back taking off a chunck of skin and they all scattered i didnt get a chance for a shot my parnter thought he had made a good hit he didnt see what i seen so after we talked and i showed him the hair we walked slowly back to the truck but never seen the pigs again this was our first trip and we had a blast we seen alot of turkyes and some deer but best of all we did see some pig the weather was perfect all day untill about 430 pm it whent from sunny and warm to snowing in a matter of 5 minutes i am ready to go agian vern

Hey Vern, no worries man! I was shooting my bow this weekend and my peep snapped off the string

So i have to head to visalia to get it fixed on monday. Well Glad you saw some pigs. Thats a blessing right there seeing em! Ill give you a call and see if your heading out this weekend, I am getting the old ball and chain attatched on the 21st so i will be on honeymoon in vegas for about 10 days. May be the last weekend for me for the next month or so. Well good hunting thanks for the info. Mike

glad you guys got on some hogs maybe next time . did you take a boat or hunt on foot. I was just talking to my cousin about getting down there and getting in a hunt and i logged on and see your story im pumped up now. But i dought it because of work.

hunthard we hunted on foot off rockpile rd i was surprized that we seen pigs being that it was our first trip and was not famillar with it but the hill sides look like some one has taken a tractor to it i wanted to stay and hunt sunday but i have to be back at work

being the first time and seeing hogs is awsome. All this hog hunting talk i cant wait to get out after them hogs again. the last time i was out hunting i missed a hog now i feel i need to get out and give it another try. Iv been telling my cousin lets go every since last year but we havent gone yet. And i just started working again so im not sure when ill go hog hunting again. Hopefully soon. I hope you get one next time. Did you take pictures.
