I am lucky enough to head off in a couple of weeks for a hog hunt, but need some help on lead free ammo. I shoot a 270 and I do not reload. I have some Winchester and Barnes lead-free both in 130grain. Anyone have any experience with either? Thanks.

Thanks grasslandhntr. I was hoping to hear from someone that has used either round. I had heard problems with the slug not expanding, but I am hoping that is not accurate.

The barnes tsx shot fine just make sure they have enough velocity to expand and the winchester is a nosler e-tip if i remember correctly and those shot great also. The plastic tip helps with expansion.

Thanks solus. The barnes that I have are the t-tsx w/the blue tip. I will have to double check on the winchesters. My rifle is sighted in with the barnes, so I will probably end up using those.

Me and my family use a 140 gr Barnes TSX in a 7mm08 and they work great. Never had a problem and everything went down quick. 2 bears , 7 hogs , 1 javelina , and 11 African critters from jackel to kudu and blue wilderbeest.

TSX and Etips both work great in my 264 win mag and 300 win mag. Dumps em right away. My buck this year was taken with a 310 yrd neck shot with an Etip 180 grn 300 win mag. It never got up...

I shoot the Barnes 140 gr TSX in my 7 mag, 130 gr TTSX in my 270, and Winchester Razor Back in my 223, all of which have performed flawlessly. its really like anything, its all about shot placement.

Some people are good enough to kill them with a stick...

Haven't tried the razorback ammo yet but I hear it works great even on pigs.
