Six years ago I entered the lottery for Share hunts for the first time and won the East Park hunt. I had to run out and buy a black powder rifle and get in shape as I was only given four weeks notice.
I knew nothing of the area and wasn’t allowed to scout ahead of time.
This is only a 4 day hunt so I was feeling some pressure beforehand with the time constraints and no scouting opportunity.
On the third day I closed the deal on a beautiful 6x7 and knew I would hunt there again one day. Having max points that was going to be my choice until I drew or died trying.
This time the animal’s were not on the property and I was having trouble just seeing a legal bull but with the help of my hunting partner I was able to fill my tag with a respectable 5x5 who had obviously been battling hard for the ladies.

Yes I did many archery hunts at Choppers place I almost forgot about that he did have Tule elk on the property at times. Those areas were usually kept on the down low and off limits but he did let me hunt that spot for wild pigs one weekend. I did have an opportunity on two wild pigs that were out in a open field tried to get close as possible had to take a long shot but missed and they were gone after that…lol but best hunts and best times ever I will never forget!….tra
