If it's super quiet and smooth I'm not sure what you could hope to expect. My PSE Baby G used to go off like a car wreck, and the limb savers made a huge diff-

What do you got to lose? It will only make it even less quiet. Are you using any string silencers? If not then put some on the limbs. Couldn't hurt! Just my opinion though.

"What do I have to loose" Limb weight will slow your bow down a little. Maybe just a FPS but it takes energy to move the mass and the more mass you move, the more energy it takes.

Will it be signifigant, No. I'd use them on even if you think it's quiet. It will still absorb vibration and that will reduce the noise. Especially when you get it all loaded up. And Matthews limbs suck! In just a few months you'll have stress cracks in the limbs. The less vibration you have the better. With that said, I shoot a matthews and wouldn't worry about it at all. My Q2 limbs cracked the first month, 2 years ago. If they ever go ahead and fail, I'll get a free pair. I like the new LX design though and that baby is a screamer and still a pretty forgiving bow. I may pick one up next year after I see how they do. They actually shoot as fast as they say!

I have a friend with a new LX and he put Limb Savers on it just for good measure. He says he can tell a difference. Its also cheap insurance incase of a dry fire. Now im not saying they will magically save your bow.....but i dry fired my FX a few years ago (major brain fart) and i honestly believe those little chunks of rubber where the only thing that saved me from a cracked limb. Good stuff.

AEH,

Cracked limbs????
[cracked the first month, 2 years ago. If they ever go ahead and fail, I'll get a free pair.]

I was at a range a year or so and got to see a limb fail first hand on the guys bow (Mathews) 5' away, It scared me, but it hurt him! After seeing that, I can say you are braver than me.
Hopefully if one of your limbs go, it won't be as explosive as his was. I'm pretty sure every time he pulls back on a bow now - that event flashes through his mind.

Oh ya, go with the limb saver, like aeh says you might lose a couple of FPS but you will gain on quietness, and over all bow health

I'll bet money that I can find a crack in 3 out of 5 Matthews limbs. They have a tendency to develop small stress fractures lateraly around the Limb bolt. I don't worry about it because they almost all do it and catastrophic failure wont usually propigate from this point. I did loose a limb on my Z-Max once. Like you said ,pretty scarry, but it diddn't get me. Like a dummy I left my bow in the truck one day and it got really hot. Some bows can take it, but a matthews will have a melt down. They do have a great gaurentee, though. All that said, I still love a matthews. If I ever do switch, it will be to a Hoyt, but for now I'm still hooked on Matthews.

Limbsavers will always have a possitive effect on a bow, man do they work well, they are a Bowhunters edge.

I liked one pair on my FX so much that i added the second pair. Talk about takin the thump out of a bow. If i could dip my riser in the stuff i would.

AEH,

When you said cracks I had a diff picture in mind, your right about the little, little cracks around the limb bolt they are common - not only on the mathews bows. I have never seen one come apart there anyways - always higher up. But anything is possible.

I just would hate to see anyone have limb go.

Just to overcome the head game that would play on a guy each time he drew back, it would take some time to get that out of your mind and concentrate on the target.

Oh ya I almost forgot,

I had a little twang that I finally tracked down to my quiver, I put a smaller version of the limb saver on it, and I shoot with an older stabilizer and stuck one on the end of that, works well.
Between the limbsaver and the tip of the stabilizer I run a orange sewing thread dangling it off so the wind can catch it.
Comes in handy for telling wind direction.
