Well I do not know the whole story but Live2Hunt has once again helped out a young hunter score on her first elk. During the earlier youth hunt in November Kaitlyn tried to kill a cow elk at FHL but it just didn't work out. There were few zones open and she had limited time between her athletics and school. DFG gave her and many others the opportunity to come back and as soon as her Soccer game was over on the 27th she hit the road with her dad to FHL to try and get her tag filled. I think she had until the 31st to get it filled before she had to get back for another soccer game. She was able to get an Elk down on the ground Saturday afternoon with her dad and Live2hunt at her side. I'm sure Live2Hunt can chime in with more details. Attached are a couple of pictures of the happy hunter and it looks like Live2hunt has avoided the camera once again.

Well that cute little blonde in the first picture is mine and that elk would not be laying there without the help of L2H. He went WAY out of his way to help both of my girls this year on youth hunts at FHL and they were both successful because of him. He sacrificed time with his own son and family to help my girls and that kind of effort is rare and priceless. Added thanks to L2H, Warden Look and Warden Gil who didn't hesitate to grab a hunk of elk at the bottom of the draw and lug it back up the hill to the road. It is refreshing to find people who share common interests and just jump in without question. Thanks to all!

And yes if you look close at the picture, Kaitlyn did shoot an antlerless bull. Just had little nub and either the horns never grew or snapped off or something. Couldn't tell across the canyon until we walked up on it, but the tag was for "antlerless elk" and it was totally legal, which relieved a ton of anxiety from a young hunter who thought she had made a mistake. Thanks also to FHL and DFG for offering a second opportunity to my kid to fill her elk tag - very classy! Good luck to the other hunters back out there now also.

Glad I was able to help. Hope the girls draw the tags again next year so we can do it all over again.

You are a great asset to our hunting community L2H. No criticism ever heard from you about some newbie not putting in enough scouting time or effort like I've seen elsewhere on the internet. You just jump in to advise, teach, and give hands on assistance -- and that's what we need in order to encourage both newbies and not-so-expert veteran hunters alike.

I'm proud of what you do. You are a great role-model. And so are your buddies who also help out online here. The sharing of knowledge and skills is so much more appreciated than keeping secrets or having a small group of code-talking elitists on the internet.

Keep up the good work!

PS: I do remember a past post about the specifics of the "chilli wrap". That code-talk is just dandi!! Ouch!
