Anyone have a small spike shed they may be willing to part with? I'm looking for a small antler tip to use as a "button" for closing the flap on a muzzleloader possibles bag I am making. I really don't want to cut any tips off my antlers from the bucks I've shot. The sheds I've found are too soft for polishing for the look I want. Thanks in advance.

I don't have a true 2" shed spike, but I do have a bunch of old (some faded) antlers that I'd be glad to cut a tip off of for you. E-mail me off line if you want one.

Thanks Belch, I'd appreciate it. I will e-mail you from home this evening. The corp. web-police will block outgoing messages thru JHO link.

As you know I'm getting my old Renegade 50 cal out again, and the suede possibles bag I had has some soft spots in it, so am working on a new stiffer leather one, along with a new sling with a pocket on the right butt side for a couple of speed loaders.

If it doesn't work out with the antler from BelchFire let me know.I've got a small box of fresh cut offs from small buck I've found over the years.

Thanks deershed, but Belchfire came through big-time!

Appreciate the care package, Belch.

Getting some leather on order, will post up the finished project.

Still working on the Black Powder "Possibles" bag. Can't decide on the design. Am going with a hip/belt bag so it's not a "Man Purse"

Thanks to BelchFire for sharing some small antlers!

I am returning the favor by sending him a 5 round cartridge holder for his 338-06 (Hope it fits up for you, Belch). Made it kinda "rustic" since I know he likes to burn some black powder.

Lots of uses for sheds and antlers we get. Think of all the animal parts the Plains Indians used. I read that brains from the animals is still one of the best metal blueings you can use. Wish I lived in those times, at times in our hectic lives.

Good luck to all in your shed hunting, put them to use.
