I am thinking about getting a new high quality photo printer to print pics from my Digital Rebel.I have been going back and forth from the Epson stylus photo R800 & the 2200.I am also looking at the HP photosmart 7960.I have the HP psc 1210v right now,it's decent but not good enough.I would like to here some of your comments if you own one of these or would recommend something else. Thanks

I bought the Canon i960 photoprinter and am thrilled with it. You can read the review on it at i960 review Just my opinion but this printer beats HP's hands down. Unless you can afford one with the inks that don't fade this is a great printer. It has 6 seperate ink tanks and so only replace one cartridge at a time and the cartridges are a little cheaper than the HP's I think... It will print 4x6 and 5x7 border to borger and is fast...Anyway as you can tell I really like this printer

Hope this helps...Oh yeh right now Canon is offering a $30 mail in rebate on this printer which putrs it around the $160 to $170 range..If you need the link to the rebate I can send it to you.

Thanks GHog..I have been looking at the Canon printers also.I like the i960 also, and the i9100 looks good to.I think this is going to turn into a back and forth debate between each printer for about a month, pretty much like it was when I was deciding which camera to get.I'm looking through Best Buy's sunday flier, and they have an i960 for $169.99 - the $30 rebate.Yeah the HP ink is a little high,I had to get one over the weekend, and it was about $40.00.About how many pics can you print with yours before you have to replace your ink?what sizes are they?I guess I'm going to go check out the review on it.Thanks again.

I have both the I960 and the S9000 (for printing up to 13x19) and like them both very much. The pictures produced on the i960 come close to those produced on photo printing machines.

IndianaBowHunter...Sorry I forgot to answer this post. I can only guess about the pics. I have printed off about 50 4x6's and a dozen or so 5x7's and may a few 8x10's. SO far I have had to replace one of the photo magenta cartridge. Most of the pic I do have been in Black and White though so your milage may vary.
