Looking for a REALLY inexpensive compound bow

Hey guys,
I am really looking at getting into bowhunting to extend my season,
So Being a broke paramedic, I am looking for a really inexpensive compound bow
I can spend about 100$ or so so any suggestions on what brands to look at I have
been looking on ebay and found some stuff, but honestly just dont know what to get, So any advice would be great THANKS JOE code3punk@yahoo.com

For the most part. A $100 bow will get you problems. I worry about the bows online that you can not touch and inspect for micro limb cracks. Check out some pawn shops where you can touch the bows and inspect them. Any cracks on the sides of the limbs and you walk away from that bow.
Just use caution. Good luck.

Check out the bargain bin at Cabelas or maybe a used bow at a dealer.

hey joe try 2nd amendment sprots they sell used bows also don at archery plus downtown has a few for sale tell him i sent you he will hook you up and he takes his time with you and will let you shoot them he is a really nice guy if you get one let do some hunting vern

There's also a great archery shop in Lancaster, on Ave I (across from the old fairgrounds, east of the freeway). I think it's callek H&S Archery.

He seems to focus more on target archery, but always has a large number of used bows hung up for sale.

As far as pricing on arrows, fletching, accessoriies, he can't be beat. If you are driving along the 14, and get a chance, check it out. It's about 3 miles east of the freeway on the south side of Ave. I, behind a big air conditioning repair center.

It just so happens I have a bow for sale, if you look in the classifieds here at JHO you'll see it. Here's a little info on it though. It has an adjustable draw 30" +- 1" with a 60# peak wt. It has a new arrow rest, peep sight, string and silencers. It has a custom camo job, it comes with sights and a stabalizer. I'm selling it because the draw is too long for my son. I'm asking $75 without the arrows. Let me know.

hey mel is it set up for release and were you using aluminum arrows if so i have some arrows and maybe a release for it i sold my old hoyt which looksed just like yours and the guy didnt want the arrows he wanted carbon let me know if you need them joe vern

Call Mike at the Bears Den in Visalia. One of my hunting buddies bought a Parker from him pretty cheap. Great bow and it wasn't tooo expensive. I gave simpleman a bow about a year ago that would of been plenty for you.

I'll see if he's still going to use it.

I can attest that Mel takes VERY good care of his stuff.

If you go to a Proshop and get a free mesurment and pick his brain..... And this bow looks like it fits in it.... Give Mel an email/ring.

Also- If La Cardoza was holding that bow in a full picture- The Price would be $150..... And sold along time ago.

Mel took me to get my complete packake for entry level. Bow alone was $299 and it was the base PSE. All the other goodies (release, sight, peep, nocks, limbsavers, string wiskers, quiver) with Pro Setup for ME, 10 Lane times, 1 on1 Instructions anytime he was free. Gear (Target, 1 Dozzen complete GT Arrows, Hard Case) Tools and maintance accesories.... I believe it was $680- $692 out the door.


Best of Luck- and remember this- DO NOT EVER shoot used arrows that you found somewhere. (Say you are really on a budget of $100

)

They have the same potential as a bullet accidently loaded twice the powder and shot- Never worth the risk and not right for that bow to perform the way it was designed.

Rocky- I didn't notice you had moved. Congrats. Everything is the same out here. San Fernando is still overflowing into the AV and ruining what used to be a great place to live. They just built another water tank on top of QH mountain for all the homes they're building on the backside. The top is now fenced off since that psycho kidnapped those girls.

Drats, I would have taken Mel's bow if code3punk does not. It just so happen that I have a 28" draw. Is there a way to put pad on the handle to take an inch off without affecting stability?

Took up archery in one of the shops here in Monrovia. Stopped when work schedule and wife's honeydews on a newly bought house in Fontana.

This would have been a great motivator to resume.

i suggest that if you want to get in to bow hunting. shop around and buy a new bow. spend a liittle more, but you get what you pay for. i've got four, one i bought new finally. now i'm content.HOYT

I have a complete set up if interested. Hoyt Super Slam Bow, Rest, Quiver, Sites Release & 6 2413 XX78 easton arrows(3 with field tips 3 with broadheads). Bow is older, bought in 1993 but taken very good care of. Only selling since the wife bought me a new one this past may.
