;)

I've never actually seen one while hunting in CA. I thought I may have caught a glimpse of one here or there a couple times but could never be sure. Well today I went out looking for pigs, and there was absolutely no doubt about what I was seeing. At first I thought it was a deer coming up out of the creek bottom, but the way it was moving made me think otherwise. Three minute stare down with this cat and I thought my heart was going to jump out of my chest.

wish it was more in focus but I had to crop and also brighten. Light was still low, and I was fumbling with the settings just to get a shot before it left.

Not sure if it was the weather change or what, but everything seemed calm today. Weather was perfect. I was able to get pretty damn close to a few deer as well. Ran into some gobblers too, but I was without my camera.

Not as exciting but a couple deer photos.

That's cool. The reason we never see them is we scare the hell out of them. Love the buck pic.

Very cool photos! I was hunting pigs there in January and had a young lion run in between my and my buddy on a road, we were about 80 yards apart.

Very cool! I'm actually glad to see the pictures of the deer too. I just pulled my trail cam the other day and there's a little buck on there and he's only got a couple of velvet spikes for antlers but based on your photo's it makes me wonder if they're still growing or if they'll stay spikes? Any thoughts? Are their antlers still growing this time of year?

They will keep growing through the summer! As long as they are in velvet they are getting nutrients.

I have hunted there at least a dozen times over the years and have only been there twice when we did not see a cat. They are all over that place.
