This past weekend I went to the Los Padres National forest on a varmint hunt. I stayed at the Davy Brown campground. Very nice campground with a creek running alongside of it. As I searched for a good site I saw a young bobcat trying to run. I took a hike up along the creek about a mile in to the canyon. I didn't see much there, but a few birds. I shot a couple of ground squirrels over by the figueroa campground. I didn't even hear a yote howling the whole time I was there. Has anyone had any luck around that area?

I'm planning a trip to the Angeles National Forest for coyote and quail. Anyone have any suggestions?

I already did hunt the figueroa mountains around Davy Brown when I posted the first message.

I'm thinking of going up highway 39. I went for a ride up there yesterday and I heard a whole lotta yippin'. I made a couple of howls and got a response.
There's also the area off of Templin highway. I live in Bellflower and it's hard to take long trips and keep up with work.
