A friend suggest that we start hog hunting and we picked Los Paders NF. Mainly because we understand it's a good place to hunt and it's close to use (Banning CA). But to cover 538,000 acres in 3 or 4 days would be hard to do. So maybe someone could heplus and narrow down the area a little. Possum
Possum,
Do a search on JHO, on this topic and you will find loads of info, especially as of late.
Yes, the LPNF is huge, BUT wild hogs only use parts of it. They are mainly nocturnal and transitory, spending the nights feeding and watering on adjacent private ranches, then going to bed at or before first light. If you find a water hole in dryer years, and they must go to water daily and you might set up an ambush. 3-4 days to get a pig on public land(except for FHL or Camp Bob)is dreaming, as you will find there are those who have hunted for a long time and not even seen pigs. There are "the chosen ones" who do their homework and score.
Good luck...
