DALLAS—The May 9 issue of Lone Star Outdoor News is available for downloading Friday at www.lonestaroutdoornews.com.

While East Texas lakes are known to be crappie havens, lakes in West Texas, including some little-known reservoirs, are producing big crappies as well.

Texas removed the 40-pound minimum draw weight for bowhunters this season, but not all enthusiasts are happy about the change. Writer Bill Miller looks at both sides of the issue.

It’s not your parents’ supper club. A group of D/FW sportsmen and women started the Cena Sin Nombre (supper without name) supper club to celebrate their bounty from the field and the water, serving recipes from redfish ceviche to snipe en brochette.
