The Feb. 12 workshop is free, but participants are asked to register in advance.
CARTHAGE, Mo. – When used in controlled, supervised conditions, fire can be a beneficial land management tool. However, it's important to stress that prescribed fire involves planning and on-site management.
If you're interested in learning how to use fire as a management tool to improve your land, the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) will hold a prescribed burn workshop from 6 to 9 p.m. on Feb. 12 in the Jasper County Annex Meeting Room, which is on the south side of the Jasper County Health Department building at 205 Lincoln St. in Carthage.
