RESERVE OCTOBER 5 FOR VOLUNTEER WORK DAY ON MENDOTA WILDLIFE AREA

Would YOU like to help set up the Mendota Wildlife Area for waterfowl season and perhaps learn some additional information about the area? Saturday, October 5, 2002, has been set aside as volunteer work day and hunter orientation day, with work crews starting at 8:30 a.m.

It should be warm at this time of the year so volunteers should dress appropriately for working in the field Participants should bring gloves and be aware there are rattlesnakes on the area.

In 2001, approximately 41 hunters participated. They cleaned up the fishing access area, worked on the ADA hunting sites, and set out garbage cans. After the work projects were completed, the volunteers were free to drive the area looking at various sites. Special thanks to all the volunteer workers who helped out last year!!!

Those interested in participating should meet at the check station at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2002 See you there!
