Looking to buy some new glass. Would love Swaro's but I don't think I'm comfortable spending that kind of money. Recently heard about Minox but have never looked at them. Heard about Kahles and even looked at some. A friend has Zeiss compacts and they are nice. Looking at 10X42 or 10X50's. Looked through some Pentax but everytime I put them up I kept getting that black shadowing you get when scopes/nocs aren't lined up right. Just started saving so it may be a little while before I get them. Want to get some really good ones.

It's good that you are saving for something really good. Sawrovski is great but they are expensive. My dad and I use Ziess classic's and they are great but no longer avalible. Buy something as good as you can get and you really want and you'll love them for ever.

Look on ebay sometimes you can save alittle on a used pair that somone else is upgrading. But be carefull ther are alot of scams for high end stuff on ebay so be careful.

looked at Minox and Kahles at Sportsman's Warehouse today. Granted I was looking through 10X42 Kahles and 8.5X42 Minox and felt the Kahles were a little brighter.

I just picked up a new pair of the Cabelas Euro Binoculars that are made by Meopta, definitely on par with the Zeiss diafin and Swaro slc new style. Great Cabelas warranty also. They run 799.99 for the 10X42. Definitely worth the price, better than the Kahles if you ask me.

I have the Kahles 10x42 and love them. They are about $800.

I have heard nothing but good about the Cabels's Euros as well ( $800 )

I ordered my binoculars. Got a smoking deal from a shop in NY that is a sponsor on the MM website. I ordered the Minox HG 8.5X52's. Looking forward to getting them. I've looked at several models the past 3-4 months so I am excited.

I have Swaro's, I can justify them with the business. I really think if it were not for that I would go with the Minox!

Thanks Richardoutwest. The shop I talked to said I would only see about a 4-5% difference with the Swaros. I just couldn't commit to the $$$$ the Swaros run. Would have liked to but not now. Besides, I got the binoculars and a 14X16 wall tent for less than the Swaros!
