Dedicated to waterfowl
KC Star
7/10/03
It's not too early to be thinking about waterfowl.
Hundreds of Missourians certainly are. They're members of a new organization called the Missouri Waterfowl Association.
The group, 500 strong, is dedicated to waterfowl habitat and conservation -- and, of course, hunting.
Chapters across the state work on projects throughout the year to make Missouri a better place for waterfowl and the people who hunt them. Recent work included the posting of wood-duck nesting boxes at many of the state's public wetlands and the construction of a hunting blind for disabled hunters at the Grand Pass Conservation Area.
The local chapter meets the third Wednesday of each month and is recruiting members. For more information, call Jim Martin, chapter president, at (816) 461-8351.
