Okay everyone, here we go!!

The new topic for the second MONTHLY CHALLENGE is "All Things Fall". It was going to cover just Fall Colours, but that isn't the only thing fall is about. It's about the chill in the air, hunting seasons opening, preparing for winter and of course, fall colours. So, post the pictures you think describe the season, "Fall". Post your shots in this thread and please supply all the information about your picture so that others can learn. This one will go for the remainder of October.

*PLEASE KEEP YOUR PICTURES WITHIN THE 640 PIXEL LIMIT ON THE LONGEST SIDE*

Thanks and I look forward to seeing all the great shots

Okay, I'll start with something I took last year. Feel free to post things other than just fall colours.

I took this up in the Kern County area last fall with my Canon D30 and Canon 24-85mm lens. No flash, tripod used.

I liked how the sun spotlit this one area of colourful leaves.

Thanks for looking!

Dad can brag, right? This is my 14 yr old son, Dan, on his first hunt. Yes, I cheated on the bird a bit

This is a shot I took from stand last Nov 1st. Something struck me as I was watching the woods wake up that this was a picture perfect moment. No sky is as deep and clear as a cold fall/winter sky.

I'm new to this digital camera thing but here goes. This is a pic of the pond & "fall" colors in Hart Flat Ca last weekend on our camping trip. It was taken with a Nikon Coolpix 2100.

I've kept my camera with me every day on my 40 mile (each way) journey to work over a 4000' mountain, hoping to get a good "October picture". But the leaves were only colorful for a couple of days, and during that whole time it was foggy and rainy, so I wasn't able to get any good pictures. Now, most of the trees are bare, so there's nothing colorful left to shoot. But this morning, we had a good dusting of snow on the mountain, so I snapped a few pictures on my way to work. This is our first snowfall of the season. The first of many, I'm sure.

I took this several weeks ago, back when we actually had colorful leaves on the trees! They're all gone now, and there's some snow on the ground. We had really good color this year, probably because we had a pretty cold, dry September. As soon as October hit, though, it started raining.

You can't see the fall colors but I took this pic of the sunset while hunting a few years ago. It was with a disposable camera I carried in my pocket while hunting. Sometimes the moment makes the pic not the equipment (but the equipment helps most of the time).

Well it's not exactly your average fall colors, but it's all I've got around here now. This was taken in Dulzura, east of San Diego, along Hwy 94.

Funny thing was it never crossed the Hwy.

Taken with an Oly C-740 in automode.

edit Maybe now that the ashe has gone to a minimum, I'll get a good sunrise/sunset pic.
