Monthly photo contests

I really enjoyed the monthly photo contests as they gave me an excuse to go out and take pictures, and the forum is kind of quite without them. Is there a chance we can start them again? Is there any interest in starting them again?

Ranchwife, I agree... I am ready for them also. I have just about lost all interest in the forum, and even in my camera. I took far more pictures when the contests were going (200-300 a day). Now I rarely take my camera out. But it can't happen without a moderator. It's pretty obvious that Lanlord has been too busy.

Lanlord (Chris) has been swamped at work. If someone wants to take the lead and start the contest every month that would be great.

I miss the pics too.

I'd like to see the contests again..

One reason I'm not as active as before, is I get booted and have to sign in again during sessions here. I just typed out a lengthy response for contest suggestions, got booted and lost it.

I liked being able to stay "signed in on this computer"....

Now I get "if you dont know how to use a feature.... go somewhere else...." Frustrating

Wapiti, it's tied to your bookmark. Do this, in the following order:

1. Delete your old bookmark

2. There is a link on the bottom right of the main forum index to clear the cookie from this forum. Hit that.

3. Sign in and use the "stay logged in" check mark

4. Make a new bookmark.

You should be logged in each time now.........

Like many, I have lost interest in taking picture's lately. This will inspire my camera needs again

I was wondering, when we do contests that involve macros, if we could divide the contest into two categories, those that have simple point and shoot cameras and those that have the "fancy" cameras? Those of us with point and shoot cameras can't do all the stuff that the "fancy" cameras are capable of doing with macros shots. Just my opinion, but I think it would make those particular contests more fair for those of us without the fancy cameras.

I'm good for now, but I may need some help after the new addition comes in a week or so.

Good idea Ranchwife...I agree with the point and shoot vs. DSLR idea.

wapiti, please check the Help forum near the top of the main forum index. There is a thread going on there now with a couple other members who are having the same problem. Make sure you post your ISP and browser and version.

I too have had a lot of issues staying on, finally just gave it up for a while... I just signed in again, then closed it out and returned and was still logged in ......... Maybe it's over...????

I would like to see the monthly photo contest revived, I enjoyed doing it and seeing all the pretty pics that y'all submitted
