While in Maine I heard a conversation relating to the problem of using aircraft and radio's to locate and harvest moose. Can anyone comment on this practice. Is it really happening?

Why use a radio when you can just hit it with a sidewinder?

Seriously there very well could be people doing this. Moose are probably pretty easy to spot from the air and this is the same reason you cannot hunt the same day you fly in in alaska.

Mike, the practice of airborne assistance for the hunting of big game(deer, bear, moose) became illegal in Maine in 2003. Don't have any knowledge of how extensively this was practiced when it was legal, but I would venture to say it was done by some. Bill
