Awesome photos, Bighog!

I'd have drooled all over my camera trying to get those shots. That's a really nice boar.

On another note... look at that tiny, wet sow. She couldn't be 100 lbs. That's the reason that we'll never be rid of the wild hogs... she's got at least one more litter in her this calendar year, and easily two or three for 2008. Amazing animals.

That is ridiculous! Down here in SoCal I can only dream of seeing hogs like that on a big hunt, let alone on my morning commute...the most wildlife I see are dang ground squirrels...

Great pictures, thanks for sharing!

Awesome!!!! Awesome!!!! I would have been jumping up and down in my driver's seat and shaking all over with the camera wiggling up and down if I had seen those magnificent wild hogs so close to the road on a morning commute to work. Awesome!!!.....and to think that those tasty, delicious wild hogs will just end up in some county or city hired trapper's cage........Oh it is such SWEET TORTURE!!!!! Thanks for sharing your KOOOOOL PICS!!!!! 'Nuff said.

Nice pics for sure... I go out there with the kids so they can get a kick out of seeing the hogs too. it's been awhile since I've seen them so it's good to know they're back. Keep the pictures coming.

Hogs on a morning commute. Wow, these are things we city folks can only dream of.

Thanks for sharing.

And by the way. The tough boar with the scar is the one I wounded while archery hunting... ...in my dreams

No need to dream about seeing hogs like that and being a city folk. Calero Res. is just a 15 min drive from downtown San Jose!

Awesome pics...thanks for sharing!

I take it they don't allow hunting there or we would be seeing you in the picture with a hog down....

Are those porkers closer to the stables or the spillway?

I've seen pigs several times up by the stables. Also, there's about 40 "wild" turkeys that scrounge around the stables for grain, etc.

When my Mom was still alive, I would take her out for drives in the hills. She was unable to walk so I would find a quiet road and drive very slowly to try give her a bit of the feeling of walking and studying the hills.
On one particular occasion, along the driveway out of Calero stables, a hog came down the hill and passed right behind the truck. Mom got all excited and asked me "Jeannie, have you got your gun?" Well I didn't and it would have been totally illegal in about 8 different ways, anyway. It it a happy memory and Thank you for the reminder.
