Hatchet I can't agree with you more on the head shots. I can't tell you the amount of people that think the vital shot is the way to go and then wonder why they loose the pig. Yeah, sometimes you get lucky with a vital shot but I want the sure thing every time.

Nice pig by the way!!!!

Yeah, until you shoot one in the head and the bullet ricochets off. Which happened to me with a 160 gr. Accubond out of my 7mm r.m. several years ago. Lost the pig, but boy did he have a headache. Anything can happen when you are dealing with so much kinetic energy; nothing is certain. I, and my hunting buddies have had zero trouble with copper. And we're talking dozens of hogs between us.

head shots are great. my favorite part of the pig to eat is the shoulder. it is a shame to turn 25% of it into that bloody, gelatious mess. i go for the computer room every chance i get, regardless of bullet.

I hit right behind the ear with copper....but if I was shooting lead then it's the vitals but I guess those lead days are gone forever here is Cali. Lead in the head is too soft for my comfort.
I have hope that one day a bullet manufacture comes up with a copper jacket bullet with a frangible core then we would have a bullet close to lead performance.
