Not much around today... I was very surprised to find this moth though since we've had frost the last two nights... I need to order some tubes.

I'm thinking about the Canon 180mm L macro lens

I need that second job. [/b][/quote]

After using my 105mm macro, I'd agree with that choice. I know for a fact though that I will go with a prime lens of larger size for macro work.

Which lens would you chose Zach? I've seen images taken with the 300mm f/4L using tubes and I've seen images taken with the 180mm L lens. The images with the 180mm seem much sharper and the lighting was always better... I'm wondering if that has something to do with the photographers, or if it is just a better lens for macro's. Both photographers are very tallented.

Paul, I'd take a look at the Sigma lenses also. I know that some say Canon is the best way to go, but I've really enjoyed my Sigma 105. It can be a tad slow on the AF at times, but it takes really sharp pics IMO. They have a 150mm and a 180mm that are withing $150 of each other. The pics I've seen from both are equal to what I've seen from Canon.
Just some food for thought.

Thanks again Zach, after seeing some of the images Wapiti posts with his Sigma lens, I don't doubt they make some quality glass... it just seems easier to find information on Canon lenses.
