Mountain Quail season too early?

Common Sense

Went out for opening day, young birds were half the size of the hold overs——made you feel like a baby killer. Season is too early, but in two weeks deer season will open and it will be near impossible to find birds. So I don’t have the answer.

My son found the same thing where he hunted. A lot of birds were too small to shoot so he did not do well. I think the birds are a little late this year because of the snow pack being a little more than normal. I don't think the seasons really need to be changed since on other years the birds tend to be larger. I agree once deer season starts they are much harder to locate.
