My 15 year old daughters first hog

Hi all,


I wanted to share my daughters first hog. We hunted them last year but wasn't successful so we finally made it back out. We hunted a beautiful private ranch between Hollister and Los Banos. 20 minutes into our hunt we came across a group of 20-30 hogs. the guide was really cool and let me take my daughter on the stalk, just the 2 of us. I got my daughter set up on the shooting sticks and after she got settled and we picked out which hog, she made a great 100 yard shot with her 7-08. She nailed her on the shoulder and split the heart but the 175 pound or so sow wasnt done yet. With a little help from Gus, the austrailian shepherd, we found her in a bush and ready to fight. I put another round in her head and the celebrating was on. I couldnt be happier for my daughter and the memory we made which we will have with us always. It was a great time with my girl.

Atta girl! Its great to see a man passing along the tradition- especially to a teenage girl! You should give a shout out to the guide. Guides are usually stuck on their own agenda. It was cool that he allowed you that amazing experience to stalk the pig on your own.

By the way, do you believe in arranged marriage? I have a 14 year old boy and someday I want to hunt with my grandchildren.:smiley-mouse:

Thats funny carnivore... I totally agree with picking my girls future husbands. They dont so much but thats ok. I was really happy the guide let me take her on the stalk. This was my second hunt with Jeff and i bet nthe 1st hunt wasnt successful because I was so jacked up getting her set up for a shot I messed her up more than helped her. This time I got it right and she definitely made it right.

I have nothing but good things to say about the guide. The cost of these hunts has gotten to the point I cant really afford them as much as I used to, but this hunt was more than worth it. If any of you are interested in the guide give jeff a call at 831 801-6196 and tell him Ken sent you. He's a good guy with good properties in Gilroy and the ranch we hunted.

Congrats dad! My princess is ready to start hunting with me. She's only 9 so big game is a few years away but all good things come to those who wait as you know. I'll be sure to show your pics to my girl. She'll be very happy to see another girl hunting with daddy.
