The 7mm Valkyrie AR is a developing wildcat designed for medium to large game for the AR-15. With the help of Leverevolution powder its able to achieve factory 7mm08 performance. The parent case is 6.5X47 trimmed and necked up to 7mm. It is optimized for 140gr pills but can go up to 168gr wih some bullets. A wildcat is not for everyone but i want the best performance obtainable in the AR-15 platform for hunting and i think this cat achieves that. Due to the shorter case and smaller AR-15 mag not all 7mm pills are appropriate for loading but about 50 bullets will work. Heres a spreadsheet of those bullets that will load in the 7mm VAR. I have a 22in fluted barrel on order with it being about 4 weeks out from delivery. I ordered a camoed JP handguard and matching magpul MOE stock from arhuntingrifles.com. I just like camoed AR-15 hunting rifles.

For an upper i got the Eisenach Arms side charge upper. I think a side charge upper makes since for a scoped hunting rifle.

For a lower i'm going with a billet lower from South Texas Arms. I'm still waiting for it. When it shows up the upper and lower will get camo dipped together to match the furniture.

For a hunting scope i'm going with the Leupold 4-12X40 AR Mod 1. I'm went with the mildot reticle to help with ranging.

For a trigger i'm going with the new Ruger Elite 452 two stage trigger.

Love them wildcats. That should be a great shooter. One thing I will add, is that when ranging with mils, try to get to the nearest 1/10th of a mil when measuring, to get the best yardage estimation. And I believe that the Mark AR Mod 1 scopes are second focal plane reticles, so you will only be able to use the reticle for milling at a certain magnification level. That being said, looks like you'll have one heck of an unloader there!

Yes its second focal plane so when ranging i need to be zoomed in all the way which i would do anyways if i needed to range so all is good.

This is what 7mm Valkyrie AR rounds look like loaded in a magazine. View attachment 85219 In order to convert the brass I have a little saw to cut and picked up the Hornady Lock N Load neck turning tool and makes neck turning a breeze and also kind of fun. I'm tossing my Forster neck turning tool it sucks in comparison.

With a 4-12X40 scope for hunting a first focal plane isn't really of that much usage. If the deer is 200 yards and under its just point and shot as i'll be zeroed for 200 yards. If its past 200 yards i'll turn up the power to full anyways to get my ranges, I made my self a cheat sheet for ranging with the assumed shoulder height of 40 inches for mule deer. Starting at 200 yards. When you start from the feet to the shoulders if your off by a little maybe a couple 10th mils off it it does not effect the yardage estimate much as you can see. If your ranging by just the torso then yeah it needs to be right on 1/10th mils.

Looks awesome!! Can't wait to see the finished rifle! And it looks like you're set on your milling. I have a MIL reticle with MOA turrets. I use the MILs to confirm laser rangefinder readings at distances further than 900 yards.

I'm still waiting on the barrel should show up next week from X Caliber to bruces. Hes going to cerakot it Black for me then send it to legend armory that is camoing the upper and lower to match the other furnature and finish the build for me. In other words still a few weeks from getting the finished rifle. Maxim Arms just finished a batch of brakes this week and they are sending them to coating next week. I'll be getting one for this build.
