My "After and Before"

I say After and Before because I bagged the buck before I got the film developed. I had slipped into an area I had not hunted for a couple of years the weekend before gun season. Upon finding lots of scrapes and big rubs, I set up a homebrew ( my first one made from TNdeer forum) and a ladder stand. The following Thursday AM I saw the buck about 70 yards and grunted him over. He fell within 50 yards of the camera (but no photo of him running by with an arrow in him). Didn't get the film developed until later and found I had got my "before" photo.

Really, really nice buck. Beautiful, even rack, big neck and body, even looks like a really pretty cape. Will make a great head & shoulder mount. Even better with before and after pics next to it.

I bet that is one of the first P&Y class before and afters. Did you get him scored yet?

Thanks guys. I wish I knew what he weighed, but don't. Guessing around 200 field dressed. About popped a gut dragging him out.

Jayber - comparing his jaw to the MDC aging chart - he's only 2.5 years old. I don't believe it though. I think their chart is based on Ozark deer that wear down their teeth faster. This buck ate 'beans and corn, and his molars were still sharply pointed. Anybody have insight on this? I could put up a photo...

docapi - I stewed for awhile and decided on a european skull mount (he's not my biggest). I called the local Taxidermist and offered what was a perfect cape for free and he didn't need it.

I did a rough score of ~130.
