My First Florida Wild Hog Encounter! Cute 150 lb. Redhead!....photos

Wow what a morning, I catch couple bass first thing then I hooked a gator and right after that a wild hog encounter all within 1 1/2 .

So after my gator experience I go to another pond throw my first cast and I see a wild hog coming out of the woods close to me so I throw my pole down run a few feet to intercept for a photo op as It runs right by me. What a awesome red coat it had. Hopefully it was heading for the woods behind my house...... lol
Almost forgot about my pole and fishing, I love Florida!......tra

NO TAGS, NO LICENSE REQUIRED, OPEN SESAON ON ALL HOGS ON PRIVATE LAND MY FRIEND. Hopefully I can start hunting soon, just gotta get everything dialed in on the new home first if I can stop playing with the wildlife first...lol

Hi TRA,
I know some people are using the Benjamin Marauder air rifle around houses. The .30 seems to work on hogs and these things very quite. One to the head and you do not need to track them into your neighbors yard. Just a thought and good luck in Florida!!

Wolfe I am strictly an archer/ bowhunter now days, got burnt out on killing animals with guns, rifles, aks years ago.
But thanks for the suggestion. I am thinking a spear would be exciting and challenging if u can use them in tis state, not sure on that one, they say u can use just about any method to kill a hog.i actually met a female FWL officer in DMV last week and asked her about some info but she protects federal land only, that must be nice!

Ya I understand the bow thing. I stopped hunting for 10 years until my daughter got be back into the sport. A week from today she has a dog and spear hog hunt in Texas. Not bad for a 13 year old. Good luck in Florida
