Here it is - my Montana Rifle Co. 1999 in stainless, .358 Win, 21-inch handlapped barrel. With the Leupold 2.5-8 x 36mm scope, it hits 7 pounds loaded. I'll be shooting 225 gr Partitions and/or Triple Shocks over a max load of W-748. Since most shots will be 100 or less, and 250 yards would be a really long shot where we are going, I feel comfortable with it. If, for some reason, my ammo gets separated from me, I can use the JJ's .30-06 loaner.

I like it a lot. With a fairly heavy contour barrel, even if it's only 21-inches long, it hangs well for me. By that I mean that it shoulders quickly but is just muzzle heavy enough that it doesn't jump around too much.

I have a very pretty wood stock for it, too, but that adds about a pound and I don't want to ding it all up.

I'll have the 30/06 and the 375HH for you to choose from. Just not sure if I'll have the 30/06 Montana Rifle or the Winchester???

Well, Jim - I will only need one if my ammo gets misplaced. I really doubt that will happen, but you never know.
