HOPEFULLY (at least for the rest of you guys) there are indeed more "Shed Babes" out there! (My Mom remains convinced that there was a swap at the hospital "... you're going outside to do what?")
Anyway, Shag and I saw plenty of sign, plenty of deer, but no sheds. One of my friends suggested the deer discovered e-bay and have taken charge of their own (financial) destiny.

if you or any of your "shed babe" friends run out of room up there you can always transplant down here to PA. "Shed babes" seem to be pretty scarce down here these days. You see fewer and fewer every year. Some say it's all the hunting pressure! LOL
Just kidding, I'm glad to see the gender barrier has been successfully crossed.

Bill M, this was taken about 30 miles south of where I live, in an area with some slope and a southerly aspect to it. So, yes, it was mostly clear of snow. Up here (as usual), we still have the snow and it snowed today again, so I'm really not looking here at all yet. In this same area, up on top of the hills where it's flat, there was still plenty snow cover. How's it going "down east" out Moosehead Lake region?

I hope your snow is gone and you have a chance to gather up the sheds before it's time to head out for the elk sheds.With all the exercise I'm getting in looking for WT sheds I'll be ready for those mountains this year.

I used to have a Sweetheart that I liked to shed hunt with also...
to bad the wife caught us.
Shag I'm about 30miles north of where you were shed hunting maybe once the snow leaves my area we can all get together and do some scouting around home??

Bill M, it'spretty clear that the thaws that have knocked our snow down quite a bit around here do not make it up to your area. That stinks. No doubt there are a few sheds out there to be found and the pine squirrels won't ruin the ones you're destined to find. Have you found any more moose paddles beyond those first early ones you snatched a while back?

Great to hear that there are some more ladies enjoying the sport kayjoe and shedgirl, There are a couple at another shed forum I visit too. I have yet to run in to a lady shedder in the field, but have seen a few father/daughter combo's combing the fields and woods, so there are up and coming ladies who hopefully will continue to enjoy the sport. I have yet to put my partner on a shed, but she has been my good luck charm already for a nice side of five. I think all it will take is one find and I will have her hooked, but I'm struggling to find much myself this year. Good luck shedding.

I love those pics with the shed strapped on the back of your sled...i can't wait to get up there in a couple weeks to try and find some of those big moose sheds myself....good luck when you do get the chance to go out again.

Shag, no I haven't found any more sheds. I haven't really been out for a couple of weeks. I have been too busy lately working on a couple of projects for my father. This week is the Moosehead fishing derby and I have been fishing every day. Kind of nice being able to cruise 4 or 5 miles across the lake with my pickup truck.
