I would like to add more reserved power to my digital cam. It works with 6 aa adn i'm using rechergeable batteries to save on $$$$ but they don't last engouh as i wanted. I tought to connect direct the camera with jumper to a car battery and recharge the battery with a solar panel so i can make few months with it.

Is there a problem to connect direct the car battery with an adaptor 12v to 9v to the camera (camera work with 6 aa, 6*1.5=9v) what about the amps???or i have to be careful about the m/a and other tech stuff?

Thanks.

Hello Phil,

Some of my cameras and camcorders have cigarette lighter cords where I can run them off 12vdc. Most I've seen won't allow you to charge the camera batteries while on the camera using 12vdc, they just run the camera.

I would check with the factory to see if what you want is possible. Be careful experimenting on your own as it will void any warranty you may have and if you apply to much voltage to the circuit boards you'll burn them up.
