Need Help from the AR guys

I want an AR in 17 remington. But ive never built, or owned an AR. Is this some thing that can be bought whole? or am i going to have to buy seperate custom parts and build it myself? if so can you help me out on where to start looking. thanks ahead of time for any info/help

If you want to build one start with a lower you like striped owers are all the same just different brands I suggest making it with milspec parts not commercial parts. I don't know if they make a 17 remington upper I would do some googling before commiting to buy a lower. no point in starting the build if you can't make it the way you want it.

I'm just curious. Why would you want a 17 Remington in an AR? Is it just because?

You can also Google ".17 remington ar upper" and it will pull up several sites that sell uppers and barrels in .17 Rem.

Not sure if it would be more to build one or buy it already complete. Time to do some research and shopping.

Why get a 17 when you can get a myriad of 223's for much cheaper and get ammo very cheap as well?
I built an areo lower with DPMS guts, an A2 stock and bought a Surplus Ammo and Arms upper with a SS match grade barrel for not very much. It shoots 1"" groups at 100 yards with all kinds of ammo and it was easy to do...

sun devil makes the best lower IMO. its a god idea to buy the upper already assembled to make sure the head spacing is right, unless you can do that part your self, i didnt want to attempt it. also spend the extra and get a good lower parts kit. you can put all kinds of uppers on it and that nice trigger will pay off down the road. good luck and post some pics when ur done.
