Okay, here is the deal.
Everything is working fine, almost!
setup is
35mm cam
rs 426
reed relay

cam is wired and will fire fine when wires are crossed.
When sensor is tripped, reed relay "closes"(what it is supposed to do). Checked it with the multimeter when pir is tripped and not tripped. Behaves like it should.

When I hook the cam up to the relay it does not fire the cam. I tried hooking it both ways ( switching the cam wires from one end of relay to the other).

Pir is tripped when hooking cam up and cam will not fire.

Repeated this many times to try and eliminate any little errors.

Can someone help?

thanks

So far so good, do you have a switch between the relay and the camera?
bat

ps the 475-232 will do ok if you are getting a 5 volt source going to it from the 426.

esaunders63,

Could the relay be opening too fast to trip the camera? What kind of camera is it?

Try crossing the camera wires to shutter the camera. You might have some bad camera wireing.

Git it fixed. Thanks for all the help.
FYI
I was using the ground wire from the speaker and for some reason that was causing it to "sing" ( remember the singing relay?). Anyway tried a different ground and it works fine now.
Thanks again,
esaunders
