Here is a nesting Great Horned Owl I found while we were out shed hunting last weekend. A guy I know bands hawks owls and eagles so I let him know about this nest and he will be back to band the young in a few weeks.

Saskman,

That is an awesome picture, makes me not even want to post any of mine. I need to save up for a Canon SLR, and take some photo classes. Your work is top notch!

Here is a rabbit I shot also while shed hunting, he wouldn't stop in the open though!

That is an Increddible Picture... That Eos10d Sure takes buetiful pictures... I want one of those in the worst way, The pictures it takes are buetiful, But the Camera is only as good as he who is using it, Sure looks like you got that down pat....

I see alot of your pictures on several differant websites I go to. recognize sheds and some of your deer harvests. Congarts on the Photo Capture

Thanks for the compliments. I was using a Canon 10D as some of you noted. I was about 10-15 yards from this owl. I can't remember what exact setting I had on the camera. It will be in the exif data but don't have it handy right now. Off the top of my head it was at 300mm with an aperature of 5.6 using a canon 75-300mm IS lens. I can't remember the shutter speed.

Saskman, great shot as usual. My wife told me that if I give up hunting I can have a DSLR camera, I guess I'm gonna have to live with my oly c740.

Im looking at this picture again and noticed something... I have never seen one of these birds before but in the center area of the bird appears to be what looks to be a hole, whats that all about, Or are the feathers just missing or seperated giving it that appearance...

I noticed that spot that appears to be a hole as well. I am not sure what it is but just figured that the feathers were separated.
