Nevada Archery Elk Unit 111-222

I drew the only nonresident tag for this hunt. Searching for the few that might have advice. It's a big area, I have my maps already. Will hunt Sept. 1-15. Thanks.

Got my maps. Yikes it's a big unit, over 4,000 square miles. For only 37 bowhunters. No wonder the bulls are big.

I hunted in the late season with rifle last year. They Have some HUGE bulls.

Can you tell me about the specific areas you hunted? This unit is gigantic. It appears most elk congregate within 25 miles of Connor's Pass, and that is where most hunters concentrate. How big were the bulls you saw? I'm hoping to get a chance at a 350"+.

I saw some big guys!! We kept saying that this place must be crazy in the rut. I went with a guide, so I can't really tell you where we went. but I can tell you that if you find water, you will find ELK. Look for remote springs with no road with in a mile from there.

I am not really good at scoreing ELK but lets just say that the one I hunted for the last few day was jaw dropping big! We were guessing around 375.

Hey man,
I've hunted that area twice in the past couple years for archery mule deer.. I would say you have one of the best tags in the country in your pocket. I've seen a ton of bulls and this was hands down the best area i've ever been in for trophy class animals. Send me a message and i can go over your maps with ya.. I actually have 3 buddies that drew the archery muley tag this year so they can check on this area for you and let me know if the bulls are still packed in there...Good luck...Great tag to have!!!!
